CALIATA INITIATIVE

A dream to revitalize rural life in the Andes and strengthen indigenous food systems through community-led work, in harmony with Mother Nature.

“It’s the chakra, it’s the wind, the air that I breathe, the animals... Pachamama is about all of this. For me, it’s the mother that is always with me. It surrounds me. It gives me life.”

RESEARCH & PROJECTS

The Caliata Initiative is an opportunity to simultaneously support an important community and educate the world through media, research, and community engagement.

Agroecology

Enhancement and Conservation

Work with agro-ecology and permaculture principles to revitalize and promote the traditional ecological knowledge and biodiversity of Caliata.

promotion of cultural diets

Assuring that the nutrition of families in Caliata remains remarkable by systematizing the ancestral food culture and preparing nutritious dishes for the households, while promoting their healthy lifestyles in neighboring communities.
